Brief 01 - Fine Art Yearbook - layout

After having scrapped the glitch cover idea and also the stamp idea- as both us and Fine Art decided they weren't working as it was too different concepts. Nick and Nat came up with the idea of using a colour swirl on the front page that was a lot of layers combine together form multiple images - this gave a more colourful and visually appealing design which the Fine Art team preferred. With the same image on the froth and back we thought it would be quite interactive to use no text on the front or back of the cover and keep it just to the spine, so then the consumer has to figure out which is the front, and make them want to find out more.

Cover design:

To work the concept through the book, we had the idea of cherry picking a colour form each students image and using it for the text on that page or just fro the students name, of which we could then order the students in a gradient that flowed throughout the book. We also decided to cherry pick colours from the froth cover to be used for the special projects page as it strengthened the cover and interlinked it with the content. The special pages would be situated within the colour spectrum where they fitted in:
