Brief 01 - Meeting with Fine Art

In the meeting we had this morning with Fine Art, as a group we presented our layouts and concept ideas for the cover, and contents. Using typeface, number of images, composition, stamp design, imagery.

They quite liked Amy's glitches images for the over, as they represented reworking photographs, however they weren't too sure about the bright colours, and that they should be muted down as to not detract from the work.

They also liked the stamp idea for giving authenticity to the concept and yearbook. And using a modern stamp design with an old/traditional process such as letterpress, could represent the concept well. For this we are going to create the stamp using letterpress to get that grainy, real quality, that we will then scan in and manipulate. This could also reflect through to the contents, as the students names could also be letterpresses and scanned in so give that same quality and consistent feel.

  • Number of images= whatever represents the student best
  • Christiana Bell= photographer for work (for most students)

  • Send email to Tracy to distribute form (to gather information)
  • Images to be in for 19th March - formatted in the specified format (.tif)
What you need from us:
  • Development of Glitch cover designs, range of colour schemes
  • Letterpress experiments - how it will look on cover and inside layout
  • The quality stamp used with glitch design
  • Experiment with authentic feel to stamp
